what should I wear for a Fall Photoshoot in calgary

I get asked this question a lot, so I decided to write a blog post about the best color palettes to wear for your Fall photoshoots in Calgary. These colours work for both indoor studio and outdoor sessions.

Most importantly be comfortable

Outdoor photos in Calgary sometimes require us to get on the ground, play in the leaves, etc. so it is important you feel comfortable.

It is also important you wear something you feel great in (not pinching in the wrong places, etc.)

Be yourself, if you love wearing hats or your child likes to wear only yellow socks, please just let them be yourselves and this will make them the happiest. We want this session to be fun and to start it off in the right direction. These photos are memories you will look back on and cherish, so let’s make sure they reflect who you are.

Earthy Tones

Earthy and warm tones such as (creams, brown, greens, orange, mustard, plum, grey and denims) are great for Fall. Basically anything that matches the colour of nature for the season is great! Families or couples should coordinate their outfits to match (either all wear some plum and cream or all wear denim jeans, etc.)

Anything with textures like chunky knits, scarfs, vests or boots look really great in photos and they also will keep you warm in case it is a little colder outside as well. If it is super cold, please try to wear a coat that matches everyone else and warm colours are great for this too.

Suggestions on what not to wear

Try to avoid bright pinks, or bright colours, bold patterns, large letters or logos.

Thanks for reading! Hope this gives you some ideas for inspiration for your next session. You can always reach out to me for more questions as well.
